He codes in Python and R, and has particular expertise in natural language processing.
Damien’s interests and scholarship includes:
- A doctoral thesis reviewing the use of citations to authorities in international law;
- Research work on legislative inflation at the national and international level;
- The role of legal data analysis in modern legal management; or
- A deep focus on Large Language Models and what they mean for the law profession going forward.
In support of his scholarship, Damien can rely on multiple experiences in several distinct fields:
- As a Senior Analyst for Investment Arbitration Reporter, where he works both as a journalist and data officer;
- As a counsel and practitioner in public international law, representing states and international organisations in international disputes;
- As a consultant on various issues at the intersection of law and data (i.e., for due diligence, start-ups, etc.).
Apart from that, Damien’s favorite animal is the noble pelican.
